Kareena Kapoor is on a high. The character she is essaying on-screen seems to have griped her. Like Mahi Arora, the superstar of ‘Heroine’, Kareena too has declared that’s she is a superstar.
Speaking to TOI she said, “I'm a superstar. This film is about a superstar's life. I kept asking myself, what if I had to go through this. Mahi is the only character I have lived through. People think it is Geet, which is not true. Every frame here is heartfelt.”
The movie is a peek look into what happens behind the scenes in the tinsel town. The scandals, the casting couch episodes, the vulnerability, jealousy, triumph, despair. Through its protagonist the movie tries to bring these things to the open.
Kareena is quite ecstatic about her role in the movie, as she had previously said that she was destined to do this movie. She has even vowed to work well past fifty. She said, “Ever since I was in my mom's womb... I wanted to be a heroine. I want people to split the screen and say 'she did Geet and she also did this'. That was the connect. I can't be just stuck doing a certain kind of role. I want to act till I am 50 and 60.”
She has also been adjudged ‘the sexiest lady of 2012’. The survey was recently done by celebrity magazine Maxim. Reflecting on that Kareena has said, “It is always wonderful to feel sexy and hot. And when it comes from Maxim, which truly recognizes hotness in a woman, then it is even better."
To be saleable nowadays an actress needs to appear glamorous and seductive. Kareena acknowledges her fans that they find her hot. She says “"Hotness is about how a woman carries herself. It is not just about a thin waist and long legs. It is about the entire package. I am glad that you guys find me hot and I definitely take it as a big compliment."
At the moment Kareena is working hard to promote her upcoming movie. Recently she was in Dubai, promoting the film along with director Madhur Bhandarkar. In true filmy style the duo were seen arriving on a sky plane and then hopping onto a yatch.
Kareena though has said she is not expecting a national award for her performance in Heroine. She said, “Hotness is about how a woman carries herself. It is not just about a thin waist and long legs. It is about the entire package. I am glad that you guys find me hot and I definitely take it as a big compliment.” Sure they will.
