Kareena Kapoor Khan had a fairy tale wedding to her long time beau and Nawab of Pataudi, Saif Ali Khan on 16th of October 2012. They had a registry marriage at Saif’s residence and after the wedding both the bride and the groom came to the balcony of the house and waved to the media and the people gathered outside Saif Ali Khan’s residence.
Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor had a hush hush wedding because the duo did not want media to intervene on the most important event of their life as they were really irrigated with constant media intervention in their life over the years. Saif and Kareena want their marriage to be a completely private affair and hence they threatened their parents that they’ll elope if their wedding was turned into a media show.
“Over the years of courtship and being together, we realized that there was no value left for anything. People just want to know what we're eating, which designer I'm wearing, who we've invited…Saif and I decided that we wanted to keep the purest part of our relationship sacred. We followed protocol by going out on to the terrace and waving at the media after officially registering the marriage, but they didn't need to know more than that,” she says.
Her parents Randhir and Babita tried reasoning with her, but Kareena was determined to have a quiet wedding, she shares, “We threatened that if they didn't let us do it our way, we'd run away to London and get married alone. Saif was never boyfriend material. He’s a passionate lover, He’s been naughty, he’s indulged his wild side and now he’s grounded.”
Saif and Kareena are in a happy space today. Both are very happy to enter into matrimony. Saif and Kareena value each other’s work as they used to do before.
Marriage did not make any difference for Kareena. Her hand is full for 2013.
